NARRATIVE
Background checks done when Dawn Gaylor offered to take two Redlands dogs under the rescue “Have a Home, Give a Home”, asking Carolyn Herman to foster. Dawn Gaylor claims that is the wrong Carolyn, but BeenVerified and Lee County court records show it to be the same Carolyn Herman charged.

Harborer of the dogs has decided to find other placement for the two dogs in  need.

Response to DNA Post

CM Dolly Bonnie I am cat tails in Naples , I rescue mostly from puppy mills in miami
I know Carolyn for years and I can tell you she is not the monster they're making of her here
Yes she had too many dogs when the Neighborh reported her to animal control ...
She had just take a group of dogs from other state
They where waiting for their appointment to be fully vetted then go to their foster homes
Also other group have had and emergency and she took a couple of dogs to help until the foster was available
Carolyn's life is the rescue ... she won't just won't make money on it ... she pays from her pocket most of those bills
As you can see an adoption fee of 150.00 for a dog who is fully vetted included surgery is too much for some adopters ..
I have meet Carolyn at mid night a Saturday to take dogs that were drove from Louisiana in terrible conditions ( her volunteers drive the trailer ) if not taken by a rescue those dogs would have being euthanized...
She found fosters for 23 but two had nowhere to go ... I took them as I had available fosters
Carolyn has her own bully ... sad part those won't care who they're hurting
And people is quick to put down persons who have being of service to the community ...
We all make mistakes and if Carolyn had other situations on her personal life it is nobody's business ...
She does what many others who are here ripping her wouldn't do.

CM Dolly She has just got those dogs and The person who called AC knew it ...
There were no sick animals those have just being rescued and where going to foster homes ...they called it cruelty because there were " too many"
That's the problem , they won't specify why they're charging her ...
She hasn't abuse an animal , they said she is a hoarder because of the number of animals but they didn't took the time to check the facts and contact other people in the group ...I had fosters available and could have take some of those already traumatized dogs ,but they just went ahead and made a big deal of it ...

By the way ...I used to give especial attention to any publication from DNA Florida and take it seriously ,even print the names and keep it on my files ...
But after this I see you are just spreading what you heard without checking facts ...
Those DNA means do not adopt?
Carolyn rescues ,takes sick unwanted dogs then she looks for families ...she is not interested on adopting !
If you have doubts just go to the petsmart in pagefield
Saturday and see the dogs she has there for adoption ...meet her ... Then decide if you are being fair

CM Dolly Is that animal cruelty ?
I have a dog who escapes every time he has a chance ...can guarantee you he is not abused
I am not saying she didn't make mistakes ...
She new she couldn't have more dogs at her house ...those dogs just arrived and where going to foster homes ...we can't take dogs to a foster without shots and meds for fleas and ticks as that will put in risk the foster person dogs
All I am saying is she is not a person who will be cruel with an animal ...
And is unfair that now you are spreading her past mistakes taking the chance she is on a hard spot
Have you never make mistakes ?
Guess what , I have make lots ...today I will do wherever it takes to defend an animal but only 13 years ago I wouldn't give a shit about dogs ...people changes ...people makes mistakes and people grows …

DNA Florida We do not rely on rumors, public records were obtained
These past "mistakes" have to do with the welfare of animals. THAT is what this page is about.

Well, I might have liked them if they were honest with me about the fact that they clipped my pup's nails too short down to the quick, and so i let her run around my tennis courts and she bled bad, and i had to take her to pet emergency to make sure she was OK. The vet said they cut her nail too short and should have told us so we would have kept her in until it healed.  That was a very expensive grooming since it cost me over 100 dollars for the pet emergency. It was after hours.  Sorry to give a bad review.

These people are untrustworthy. I would NEVER bring my dog back there to be groomed, let alone for boarding. They should be shut down. Conditions are awful!

Mario D. Cocoa, FL, 1/2/2016
My parents have boarded heir dogs with this company many times.  My mom complains every time that she takes bedding and the bedding is never used.  We just came home from a week long break and the food she left for the dogs was never touched.  My brother left his dogs as well (larger dogs) and the food they left for their dogs was never touched.  My mother's dogs came back filthy after having been groomed just before she dropped them off.  I'm advising her and my brother to find another boarding service, but she's afraid to leave them with any boarders at all in the future.

Walked in today to ask about grooming services. Staff looked clueless and uninterested in my questions while they searched Google. Walked out. Do not go here!!!

Ray N.  Cape Canaveral, FL, 6/7/2013
I love this place! They take care of my puppy like their own! Good place for your furry friend! And 10 bucks a day you can't beat that!

Stephanie S. Cumming, GA, 4/5/2013
We boarded our dogs here, but would never use them again. Smelly, unclean, disorganized, no paperwork completed. Dogs are allowed to intermingle with others without bring monitored. It seems unsafe for the pets. Worst boarding experience by far in five years.

Comment from KJ S. of Paws & Claws On The Grove
4/8/2013 Thank you for your review.  At Paws and Claws our floors are cleaned 3 - 4 times daily as well as spot cleaned for pet bathroom accidents.  Dogs are required to have their shot records, wellness records and instructions from their vet for special medical needs or they will not be accepted in our establishment for any services.

We have 3 to 4 staff members here at all times to monitor the dogs.  Dog's behavior and Dog Parents are interviewed and observed so that we know how the animals get along with other pets and people before they are socialized with the other pets.  If the animal is antisocial or has behavioral issues, we have individual pet suite rooms that they are separated to and cared for on a more individual basis.  Your pets were separated from the others at your request.

At Paws and Claws we have never had a pet injury and all pets are treated as if they are our own.  We are monitored regularly by The Health Department and Environmental Department and always receive a very high rating.    We encourage our Pet Parents to please bring up any concerns or issues on site so we may address them immediately.  I apologize that you did not have a good experience. Our #1 priority are the pets and our pet parents that we are so fortunate to care for.

PETITION: Shut Down Abusive Boarding Facility/Puppymill

https://www.change.org/p/florida-state-house-shut-down-abusive-boarding-facility-puppymill

Kellie Jo Strabley AKA Kj Strabley is the owner of Paws & Claws Country Club & Resort or also known as Paws and Claws for doggy daycare/boarding/

and grooming. She needs to be stopped from harming all these innocent animals!! Not just boarding dogs are injured there its grooming dogs to!

And there are pictures to prove it! KJ is also a puppy-mill!! She has 2-3 litters a month and she sells the dog as a certain breed but its actually a

different one. If these puppies do not sell by certain age she dumps them off in a field or poisons them!. If they are hurt she leaves them there

to rot and suffer with no medical attention! if you go to the link there is a news story on a dog named Molly that was boarding there while the

owners were out of town but Molly was mauled to death by 7 other dogs! But Kj lied about it and said Molly died in her sleep!! And Kj had

her cremated without the owners consent just to cover up her lies!! There are so many other stories and everyone is coming forward

cause they cant take hearing all the stories anymore! Kj threatens owners of the dogs she has hurt so they cant do anything so she keeps

getting away with it!! Enough is Enough!!

Can provide pictures, names, and info to help make this process happen!
