Two accused of forging documents at DeSoto puppy mill

DESOTO COUNTY, FL - The operators of what is being called a ‘puppy mill’ falsified information on the animals and then sold them to unsuspecting customers, according to the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies raided the Arcadia property Thursday, seizing 56 dogs - many of which were being kept in small cages in cramped, filthy conditions.
Investigators say Andrew MacAuley and Chelce Dower were selling the dogs for thousands of dollars on a website called LittleArcticAngels.com.
The duo allegedly forged veterinary health certificates, and deputies say they didn’t have a license to breed animals.
In an ironic twist, the couple's website included a section on even has a section on avoiding scams.
Customers tipped off authorities after their newly-purchased pets fell ill.
According to an arrest affidavit, one person's "puppy would have seizures and scream out in pain."
The seized animals were not malnourished, but are suffering from flea, eye and respiratory problems - all sicknesses common in puppy mills.
The dogs are being cared for now, but can't be adopted out to loving homes until the legal process plays out.
MacAuley and Dower are charged with fraud and forgery. There could be more charges in the case. Puppy mill busted in Arcadia, 66 dogs rescued

We were just given word that 20 Siberian Huskies are at the Arcadia Shelter which is a kill shelter. Apparently they were seized from an illegal breeder. This is a desperate situation and will require the cooperation of all Husky rescues and advocates in the state of Florida. James McGuire I'm 99% sure these are the same people that own Snow Angels Huskies in Arcadia. I wrote a long diatribe about our experience with them back in 2010, so if they are truly the same people I'm so, so, so happy they finally got raided! Good riddance.
Rachae Tropisch German Shepherds Yes, Chelce Dower runs a page on here called Florida pet classifieds and now changed her name on there to a false name because she is admin, beware!! I know someone that personally went there and said the conditions were horrid. Also believe she has moved and is starting it all again.
