I don’t even know where to begin right now but I wanted all of you to know from me what I found out about the dogs that Maryann had. After I saw the post on here about the dogs, I took yesterday off of work with every intention of getting my dogs out of Pinellas AC-I was up all night and some of the angels on this board were up until 4 AM helping find places for these dogs to go to. I knew when I was driving there I needed someone with me as this was beyond devastating and I didn’t want to be alone so I reached out to Jane Doe who got right into her vehicle and met me at Pinellas. When we walked in I talked to the workers and found out how the dogs wound up in there.
On 10/18 someone reported 10 dogs abandoned, the sheriff’s office and AC went to the house where her landlord let them in, they didn’t find 10 dogs there, they found 17!!!! The dogs were definitely abandoned and we don’t know for how long. The dogs were all covered in fleas, had worms, no food and no water!!! The home was beyond filthy-there was “urine and feces everyplace” including buckets with feces in them. Some of the dogs were in crates that were too small for them and the house smelled awful-I forgot the words they used but it was nothing nice.
I was not able to pull my dogs out as they had already been processed and put into adoptions-believe me I tried, I did everything I could-I had a 5013c that was willing to let me pull them out under her rescue but Pinellas wouldn’t let me pull them-we had places lined up for my dogs-we were up until 4 AM working on this. Rosie and Luigi are still in there and so are 2 of Rosie’s puppy’s including Ice-he is the one I paid shitloads of money to have surgery for his hernia and then he had an infection and had to go back into the vets for IV antibiotics for a while which was not cheap, I did talk to the workers there and asked why it didn’t state on his card that he is deaf and they said they didn’t know he was-They told when I was in there today he will be going to go to a rescue that deals with only deaf dogs and everybody that works with this rescue is deaf-I truly believe this is the best place for Ice to be so he can learn to live in a hearing world and be around humans that have no hearing just like him. The dogs that are in adoptions are absolutely safe-they will not be euthed and they will be in there until adopted.
If anybody is wondering how she had 17 dogs in her house I can tell you this. I was lied to and so were the other rescues, if they want to add in what they were told about their dogs they can add their comments but I know what I am writing they will not mind-they just may have more to add.
I was told her co-worker who is a nurse was fostering 2 puppies, Cathy had 2 pups, her mom has Ice. As far as Bella, her son adopted Bella through the pit bull crew-I adopted Bella out of Pinellas today for the pit Bull Crew (her son was supposed to also have the blue pit she had and Einstein) but they were at Maryann house and was confiscated as well. I was also told that the white GSD she adopted for her friend and her friend didn’t want it was at her in-laws house.
Of the dogs we know were in AC here are the updates: Rosie still in AC, Ice-going to rescue for deaf dogs,1 other puppy not sure of the name still in there, 2 puppies adopted, the white GSD Adopted, Bella back with the Pit Bull Crew, Luigi Still there, Wendell still there, Honey still there, Einstein adopted, Lucy in foster- I do not know which other ones were in there and adopted out already but I know of these ones for sure. I did not see Booda in Pinellas nor did I see Autumn - these are her personal dogs so I am not sure if she and her boyfriend took them and left the others??
I assure you, she had received money from myself and the other rescues for vetting and food-I know we have all given her $$ AND she had open access not just to my vet in zephyrhills but to 2 vets in st pete and all she had to do was bring the dogs in-no questions asked. I also assure you she was receiving money to feed the dogs not just from me but the other rescues as well and now I have found out she had chipins all over the place for $$ a few people have contacted me from her peace love and pit bulls site to let me know they have given her money and shared her chipins, a lady from a ferret page also told me she and her ferret people have given her money-I don’t know how much she has received from her chipins and I will never know nor will I ever understand.
If anybody wonders about the condition of the dogs-all I can say is I am a pretty strong person and it broke me down to tears-2 days in a row. Words cant describe how upset I am nor can they describe how much hatred I feel for this woman-I know some of you will defend her and say she didn’t mean to do this or she has a mental illness but I will be honest, I don’t give a flying fuck-neglecting animals I see no excuse for, abandoning animals there is no excuse for-all she had to do was call, text, message me anytime morning noon or night and I would have found a way to get the dogs to safety.
I don’t know what else to say right now, but if anybody finds Maryann-please let the Pinellas Sheriffs know where she is, she is facing abandonment and hoarding charges unfortunately, they cant find her-she has definitely abandoned her home, she has not shown up to work to work or pick up her paycheck-she is running scared-they believe she knows they were in the home and took the dogs and knows she is facing charges and hiding.
The police have contacted her job. She has not been to work and has not picked up her last paycheck.
When I talked to Pinellas AC, they assured me she will be back getting dogs again. 100% of the people that get busted as hoarders go back to hoarding.
